VIII Conferencia General 2020
Con estas palabras comenzó su saludo a las participantes de la VIII Conferencia General la Hna. Teresa Valenzuela, superiora General:
“Queridas hermanas:
Hace tres años iniciábamos un nuevo camino tras recibir en el XXX CG la invitación a dejarnos transformar por la novedad del Espíritu. Ninguna de nosotras podía imaginar que íbamos a vivir un escenario como el que desde meses tenemos; esta pandemia nos ha sorprendido y nos sigue sorprendiendo a todas, a todo el mundo, sin diferenciar edad, cultura, realidad. Como ya les compartía en una de mis cartas, este diminuto virus se pasea por nuestro mundo sin necesidad de pasaporte, visados, etc. Para el no existen las fronteras, viene, se queda y… nos cambia la vida.
Lo digo porque, especialmente en este tiempo de desconcierto, de fuerte experiencia de la vulnerabilidad de nuestro mundo, de la Iglesia, de nuestra Congregación, volvemos a encontrarnos para renovar nuestro deseo y disponibilidad para descubrir a Dios presente y actuante. Su Espíritu nos ofrece nuevas pistas e interpelaciones que salen al encuentro de nuestras búsquedas. ¡Juntas, podremos descubrirlas!
Ya de inicio tenemos un gran reto, cambiar nuestra manera habitual de relacionarnos y de trabajar. Y, aquí estamos ante una realidad virtual que nos exige organizarnos de otra manera, sin abrazos, sin esos gestos que hasta ahora eran la acogida y alegría del encuentro. Pero esta situación no puede bloquear ni limitar la fuerza del Espíritu que nos habita. Todas sabemos por propia experiencia que las situaciones difíciles hacen desarrollar en nosotras estrategias que de lo contrario quedarían dormidas. Hermanas, la experiencia que vamos a vivir ha de renovar nuestra vida y hacernos retomar el camino contagiando a todas con una esperanza renovada.
Teníamos muchos planes, pero lo cierto es que los designios de Dios escapan a nuestro entendimiento, simplemente porque “sus planes no son los nuestros…” (Cf.Is.55, 8). Sólo desde esa perspectiva podemos comprender que justo aquello que el Espíritu nos está “mostrando” a la Iglesia, a la VR, toda, a nosotras Adoratrices es lo que el mundo necesita hoy….!»
Greetings at the beginning of the VIII General Conference
Dear sisters,
Three years ago, we began a new journey after receiving the invitation from the XXX GC to allow ourselves to be transformed by the newness of the Spirit. None of us could imagine that we would live a scenario like this for months we are having; this pandemic has surprised us and continues to surprise us all, to the whole world, without differentiating age, culture and reality. As I have already shared with you in one of my letters, this tiny virus travels through our world without a passport, visas, etc. For the virus there are no borders, it comes, stays and … changes our lives.
I say this because, especially at this time of confusion, of tough experience of the vulnerability of our world, of the Church, of our Congregation. We meet again to renew our desire and availability to discover God present and acting. His Spirit offers us new clues and questions which comes out to meet our searches. Together, we can discover it!
Right from the beginning, we have a great challenge, to change our usual way of relating and working. And, here we are facing a virtual reality that demands us to organize ourselves in a different way, without hugs, without those gestures which were previously the sign for welcome and joy of meeting. But, this situation cannot block or limit the strength of the Spirit that inhabits us. We all know from our own experience that difficult situations lead to develop strategies that would otherwise fall asleep. Sisters, the experience that we are going to live has to renew our life and make us get back on the road, transmit everyone with a renewed hope.
We had many plans, but the truth is that the projects of God are beyond our understanding, simply because “his plans are not ours …” (Cf. Is.55, 8) Only from this perspective we can understand that precisely what The Spirit is «showing» the Church, to the Religious Life , to us Adorers is what the world needs today.
