A favorable time: Words of Sister Teresa Valenzuela, Superior General, before Lent 2023

Before the arrival of Lent of this year 2023, we share with the entire Adorer family the following words of Sister Teresa Valenzuela, Superior General:

We are at the doors of holy Lent, forty special days to walk towards that luminous horizon that attracts us and mobilizes us toward the life we long for. Time to stop, to reflect, to listen… to let go of that apparent security as a value, to let go of what binds us, and assume risk as an opportunity. “The Lord answered me: My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Cor 12,9).

As the family of adorers, we are on the way to the XXXI General Chapter, let us let ourselves be led by the Spirit that moves us to start it with a synodal sense together with the whole Church. The key element that God proposes to us to go through are given: Walking with Him every day, being attentive in our relationship with Him, with our sisters, also with our “little sisters“ and those around us. Taking care of life and doing it together (VIII GC) is precisely what God expects of us, of Consecrated Life, of the Church in synodality, because it calls everyone together, and “excludes no one”
(Pope Francis)

May this Chapter journey, in Lent, be a time to allow ourselves to be stimulated and inspired by God, listening to our current reality, that of today’s world full of challenges and opportunities for our life and mission.

This is a favorable time! Our time. I wish you a happy journey towards Easter.
